About Me
I'm Darien Hardin, known online as Dazlarus — creator of The Garden community and head developer of the Ensign Karl AI project. My philosophy centers on building creative systems as living ecosystems, where technology, creativity, and community grow together in harmony.
I don't build silos; I build interdependent networks. Every system — from AI agents to fictional worlds to learning communities — should behave more like gardens than machines. My work spans local-first AI development, science fiction worldbuilding, and collaborative learning environments.
Core Philosophy: Creativity is the engine, engineering is the scaffolding. Technology should be a companion, not a dependency. AI enhances human imagination — it doesn't subsume it. The human experience of curiosity, wonder, craft, and community is the point.
